Suggested change this week

Try replacing “language learning” in your name

  • “language learning” is in your name.
  • Your app was #158 of 195 in the United States, below the first 50.
  • Apple suggests “language learning” in App Store search.
  • The top 10 apps have a median of 79,696 ratings, and 9 of them use the phrase in their name.

Trade-off: You would give up some or all of your current name.

US App Store data checked 30 September 2026. Positions come from Apple’s public search and can differ on a phone.

How to read it

  • Position band

Every position falls in a band: top 10, 11–25, 26–50 or below 50. Only the first 50 count as visible. Searches for your own app’s name are counted apart.

  • Apple suggests this search

Each phrase is checked against the App Store’s search suggestions in that country, in any of ten countries. A yes means people type the phrase. It doesn’t say how many.

  • Page-one strength

The median rating count of the top 10 apps, and how many use the phrase in their name. A page of apps with 80,000 ratings each is harder to join than a page of apps with 200.

  • Category rank

Your place in Apple’s category chart, such as Flighty at #59 in Travel, Top Free, United States. The chart lists 100 apps.

From a finding to the words you publish.

  1. 01

    Collect phrases.

Phrases come from your listing and keywords, your public reviews and the competitors you confirm. Each one keeps a link to its source.

  2. 02

    Rank them.

Phrases Apple suggests come first, then phrases with an open page one, then phrases more sources agree on. Listing never suggests replacing your app’s name or using another company’s trademark.

  3. 03

    Write them into your page.

Try a phrase in your subtitle or add it to your keywords. Only new words are added, and only while they fit in 100 bytes.

  4. 04

    Check what changed.

Mark the day the update went live. Listing compares ratings, category rank and the search you changed, before and after that day.

Write keywords that waste nothing.

Paste your own copy. The checker uses the same rules as the Store page in Listing: Apple’s limits, keywords counted in bytes, and no repeats, plurals or spaces after commas in the keyword field. Your text stays in this tab.

Field checks

These fields are within Apple’s limits. Your keywords can be tidied to free 28 bytes.

  • Removed the space around a comma. Apple asks for terms “separated by commas and no spaces”, and each space uses a byte.
  • Removed “focus”, “timer”, “deep” and “work”, already in your name or subtitle. Apple: “Your app is searchable by app name and company name, so you shouldn’t duplicate these values in the keyword list.”
  • Removed “task”, another form of a word you already have. Apple counts plurals of words already included as duplicates; its example is “climbs” and “climb”.

Keywords are counted in bytes, so accented and non-Latin letters use more of the 100. Limits tell you the copy will fit, not how it will perform: Listing adds the search checks that show which words are worth the space.

A weekly email about your searches

Turn on daily checks for up to 25 phrases in up to three of ten countries, with 90 days of history. Once a week you get a summary of:

  • Apps that entered or left the results for your searches.
  • Moves in the top 10 and top 25, ahead of moves further down.
  • Which part of a competitor’s page changed: name, description, screenshots, price or category. Updates that only change the version number are left out.

A phrase can go to Studio as the start of a screenshot, with its source attached.

Every number shows where it came from.

Search results, suggestions, ratings and charts come from Apple’s public App Store data. Each number shows its source, country and check time. A check that didn’t finish is marked as unfinished.

What Listing doesn’t show

  • No search volume and no download estimates.
  • Positions come from Apple’s public search and can differ from the App Store on a phone, especially for long, specific phrases.
  • Apple doesn’t publish a live app’s subtitle or keyword field. Paste yours in to check them.
  • Listing doesn’t connect to App Store Connect, so private analytics and conversion figures aren’t included.
